the new one?

day over... tired, sitting here, watching tv, waiting for a possible new room mate to come "check out the place" as our supercool landlord *yawn* likes to put it... but let's start at the beginning....

well.. the day started much like the evening ended... slow.. another early shift ahead of me... god how i love these.. not.. guess getting of work at 3:45pm must have it's downside as well, and since i don't really live in the (almost) country side where i work, it's gonna take some time to get there.. ok, somewhere between 20min and 45min bus ride (the punctuality of public transportation in dublin is another topic... e really special one if you come from a country famous of its exact clocks and timing, amongst other things of course :) ) can be a pain in the ass but it also gives you time to slowly start waking up before the first coffee and the first call... but it unfortunately also means i have to get outta bed at all hours of the night to be there at 7am...

i got off topic.. sorry.. here i am one moment, slumbering and dreaming of... you're getting off topic again.. focus, sam! ... never mind... one moment slumber and sweetest dreams, next moment a very irritating vibrating noise and wanna be cute sound next to me... what?? what the feck is that?? what's going on? oh come on... ok, it's 5:30am, time to get up.. i really don't wanna go to work... a look outside the window shows a typical dublin morning... dark, cloudy, rainy... the perfect weather to weak up to to put it short... ok, maybe the shower will help...... - didn't - ..... getting dressed in something comfortable ("appropriate buisness attire" my ass.. did that the first day only to realize that i was the only one except the bosses and managers) and trying not to miss the bus... we know that it's supposed to leave it's starting point in the city center at about 6:20am.. and it take it between 4min and 15min to get to my stop (the punctuality thing again....), so.. better be leaving the house by 6:20am... actually managed to not to miss the bus.. took it 8min today... just made it.. getting on the bus facing yet another really charming bus driver with a mood much like mine... getting to the top floor to find a seat and.... :) there's the first really happy moment... on the frontest double seat somebody is smiling at me.. yay, anna (work friend) missed her bus and ended up on the later one... at least the bus ride's gonna be funnier than usual :)

chatting away, sharing the latest stories.. turns out the pub behind her place had another late close.. meaning not much sleep for her.. thank god the pub around the corner from my place is far enough away plus my room is facing the other direction... not much going on at the moment though... brendan (our irish flat mate) is visiting his girlfriends home with her (guess where that is?? zurich!!! :D) and sergio (spanish flat mate) is going mad on his guitar but other than that.. calm evening, watching the 2nd season of my new favourite series "the vampire diaries", just falling asleep somewhere around 11pm - time to get off the bus.. arrival at main street in the lovely village of swords *cough*... work is still a 10min walk away though.. but eventually there's a big building with these all to familiar yellow/black letters saying a work that looks like the most important organ spelled wrong... hello work, missed me?

coffee.. hellos all around.. more like unwilling mumbling at this time but gestures of greeting nonetheless.... booting systems, putting on the headset, log on to the phone program - 0 calls waiting - thank god no queue.. ok, now what? mails... anything important? 20 junk mails and some commercials... thank you.. f*ckin wast of space... *beep - a lady in my ear communicating what line the customer comes in" - line opens* ... "good morning *organ* reservations, my name is sam, how can i help you?"

astonishing low number of stupid, annoying questions until 11am when my system spontaneously decides to shut down.. the question to IT why it does that bring forth the answer "it's pulling updates"... wtf??? at 11am? only the busiest time of the day... but who cares about lost calls? .... not much going on during the day... just average amount of human stupidy but in low volume so idc... only thing really annoying is my "know it all" work mate sitting next to me... mister i know everything about everything... be it marine biology, art, history of whatever kind (be it standard or mystic), economics or medicin.. and everything you like is bullshit because he's so much more intellectual... "if you have the tiniest bit of knowledge, you can tell that this is fake" ... "this is so over the top, how can you like this" ... "do you want me to tell you some real facts on the topic? (vampires in this one.. addicted to it and not, not only since edward cullen :) .. like doing research at work when there's no calls) something you can't find on the internet?" ... "no, thank you"... "might save you a lot of time.." FUCK OFF!!! "thank you but know.. i prefer finding out stuff myself"...
at some point during the day a text message from my landlord: "can you show somebody around tonight? i set an appointment at 8:30pm, ok?" ... do i have a choice you dickhead???
but then finally.. after plenty of "i know it all best and all the other facts are shit because i've never heard of them" and plenty of customers with the iq of a dying rat it finally turns 3:45pm... i'm so outta here!! but wait... when does anna get off work? 4:15pm? ok, let's clean a bit and wait for her... better than fall asleep on the bus, bang my head on the bus window because of the adventurous way the driver hits the turns.... gossip again and finally home... yaay :D

coming home, paying sergio back the money he lended me because i was skin broke and informing him about the visitor later... "hey man, let's make the worst possible impression.. i don't want any other flate mates".... with you on that one, but what choice do we have???
so here we are.. doing the landlords job, who lives all the way in cardiff by the way.... good thing about that is he never comes by... came by once, took a shower, left again... good man yourself.. feck off :D

really with sergio on this one... i'm open to new experiences but my time in dublin has proven... this clearly IS an island... will all the hillbillies that come with it... a violent pack mostly... feels like with all the stereotypes and shite they're still in stone age... maybe the will evolve to intelligent human beings away from look, smelling and behaving like farm animals, but... i don't really know... i really got lucky on that front though... living with an educated, open, cool irishman who is very much capable to think beyond his yard and whos horizon as well goes further than that and getting shitfaced....

the one to be replaced would be a romanian long heard, fully bearded metal head... fucked in the head, mental bastard, completely mad but a good friend... does that person who is supposed to show up on our doorstep any moment have any idea how big of shoes he or she has to fill?? highly doubtful... but, one should always be open to new things.... right???

ok, y'all wish us luck... no clue what to expect.... will post a "judgement" later... ;)
